Nippon Zoki Pharmaceuticals America was established in 2004 as a local agency to support and promote the research, development and marketing in the U.S. of pharmaceutical products to treat pain disorders as well as OTC products of our parent company in Japan. Nippon Zoki Pharmaceuticals America also serves as contact point to establish collaborative efforts in developing safe and effective new drugs to treat pain, inflammation and allergy and to create new business opportunities with U.S. companies.

Our initial goal is to introduce our flagship biologic analgesic, Neurotropin® tablets, into the U.S. pain market. Neurotropin® tablets, which contain a non-protein extract of cutaneous tissue from rabbits inoculated with vaccinia virus, have been widely used in Japan to treat a variety of painful conditions over the past 20 years. Clinical trials of Neurotropin® tablets (http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/results?term=neurotropin) in chronic pain patients, suffering from complex regional pain syndrome or fibromyalgia, are being conducted at the National Institutes of Health in the U.S.
